I created Self Employed Central in 2010 after being a freelancer/small business owner for five years. I have long had a theory that more and more people are going to become self-employed — by choice or by circumstance — and more businesses will simultaneously realize the benefits of working with contractors instead of full-time employees.

Self Employed Central is an attempt to help those who are freelancing, starting their own business, or considering going off on their own to understand the trials and tribulations of being self-employed. With expert bloggers, a community area where the self-employed can offer support to one another, and books and products that can be helpful, Self Employed Central has become a one-stop resource for everyone who has said goodbye to the corporate world!
